Vermont Master Composter Course
This course offers an in-depth study of backyard composting and covers the many ways to turn food scraps and yard trimmings into nutrient-rich compost. It is offered by the University of Vermont Extension Community Horticulture Program in collaboration with the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources.
The 2023 Vermont Master Composter Course started on September 1, 2023 and materials are available through November 16, 2023.
Registration for the 2023 course closed on August 31, 2023. Contact master.gardener@uvm.edu to be added to the 2024 course notification list.
The fee is $50 for Vermonters and $150 for participants who live outside Vermont. We offer two tracks: 1. Volunteer Certification and 2. At Your Own Pace.
