Critical Competencies: Supporting Language and Literacy Development 2025

As with other capabilities that are central to full, successful, and satisfying participation in life, the foundation of becoming a skilled communicator and user of language is laid in infancy and toddlerhood. Research has shown that, in their first 3 years of life, children learn about language at a phenomenal pace. Educators are the key ingredient in a language-rich environment for infants and toddlers in group care settings.

This is a 9-hour course and all lessons, essays, and quizzes must be completed to receive a certificate.
