Fit and Healthy Kids: What You Need to Know about Food Allergies

This course is part of the Fit and Healthy Kids series. The Fit and Healthy Kids Series on-demand classes consist of 2-hour of online course work at your own pace. A team of University of Nebraska Extension Professionals offers the Fit and Healthy Kids series on-demand programming to help increase the use of best practices in caring for and educating young children across the state.
Brief Description of Training: Researchers estimate that up to 15 million Americans have food allergies, including 5.9 million children under age 18. Caring for a child with a food allergy can be challenging.
As a result of this training participants will:
1. Watch for the signs and symptoms of allergic reactions in children.2. Use specific strategies to reduce the possibility of allergic reactions.
3. Seek out additional information from a child’s family to reduce allergic reactions.
