Brief Description of Training: Safe storing, preparing, and serving of foods
is just as important in child care programs as serving a balanced diet. Many
children and adults get sick from eating foods that are not properly handled or
when food safety guidelines are not being followed.
As a result of this training participants will:
1. Identify food safety facts related to child care facilities.
2. Identify My Plate food safety tips to clean, chill, cook, and separate in order to keep food safe.
3. Understand the differences and prevention strategies for foodborne illnesses commonly associated with child care facilities.
