Vermont Master Composter Course
This course offers an in-depth study of backyard composting and covers the many ways to turn food scraps and yard trimmings into nutrient-rich compost. It is offered by the University of Vermont Extension Community Horticulture Program in collaboration with the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources.
We offer two tracks: Track 1 for Vermonters who'd like to volunteer in their communities and become a certified Vermont Master Composter, and Track 2 for individuals who'd like to take the course at their own pace and are not interested in volunteering; Track 2 is also open to students who live outside Vermont.
The course is offered every fall; registration for the 2024 course is now closed. If you'd like to be added to the notification list for the 2025 course, please email master.gardener@uvm.edu.
