Course Overview
The UC State Chaperone Essentials for Overnight Events course prepares adult volunteers to support youth at overnight events. It focuses on safety, well-being, and positive youth development, using the Fish Philosophy to guide a positive chaperone approach.

Approximately 25 minutes (Can be completed over multiple sessions)
Who Should Attend
REQUIRED: All chaperones attending State and National overnight events sponsored by the State 4-H Office.
RECOMMENDED: All chaperones attending any 4-H overnight event. Final requirements are set by county-based personnel.
This course supports, but does not replace, event-specific training.
