Changing Public Behavior
ASSIGNMENT 1.7: Connect behavior and outreach
ASSIGNMENT 1.7: Make the connection between behavior and outreach
Directions:
In this assignment you will compare steps for identifying behavior change goals and methods with the steps for developing and evaluating education planning goals, as outlined in the Logic Model. The purpose of this assignment is to make sure that you are familiar with the steps of each of these two companion processes.
NOTE: You will need a copy of Educating about Behavior and the Environment. If you haven't downloaded or printed a copy already, a PDF and doc version is available in Materials, Unit 1 (Assessment section in Unit 1).
ASSIGNMENT
Look at the Logic Model, and compare its elements with the 7 steps in the Educating about Behavior and the Environment planning tool, which you started to complete in Activity 1.5 and Assignment 1.5.
Identify which of the 7 steps in the Behavior and Environment worksheet will help you complete the audience and outcome columns in a Logic Model.
For example, completing Steps 2 and 3 of the Behavior and Environment worksheet would help you fill in the "audience" column on the Logic Model.
What other connections can you find?
[HINT: Return to Activity 1.7a for practice in using the Logic Model, if needed.]
Check yourself: Your response should reference at least two steps in the planning process selected from the following:
